Mates,

I wonder if you have any records of this officer with 34 Sqn RFC?

McALARY David 1496 Pte 6 LHR 11R NTOS to 2 LHTR 3-16 to cadet 3 SMA Aboukir 1-17 disch 17-2-17 to British Army prom 2/Lt RAF (SR) to (pilot) 34 Sqn RFC F&B later WWII

Also what was 34 Sqn RFC duty during the war?

From his entry in the Australian Society of WWI Aero Historians database: http://www.ww1aero.org.au/database.html it looks like Lt. David McAlary served in No. 34 Training Squadron (not the same as No. 34 Squadron) in mid 1917, but his service between then and the Armistice remains obscure.
