Remembered Today:

Regimental spoon?

The Prussian

Recommended Posts

Hello gents!

A friend of mine lives next to a court, which was used as a prisoner camp in the 1st WW.

Now he found this thing.

Because of there were a lot of british officers in the camp, he assumes, it could be a part of a spoon with a regimental insignia.

Any opinions, please?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Charlie!

Yes, it seems so...

That´s why I posted the photo in two views. I don´t know which is the right side. Unfortunately I can´t read anything that´s written

Hi Andy

Have you tried to read the inscription from the other side ie inside the "bowl", that is where it would be normally readable.

Charlie

That is not the "bowl", it´s just the upper part of a spoon. The "bowl" is missing

Wir wir in Deutschland sagen, "nur der Stiel"...

(like we say in Germany: "just the spoon handle")
