He entered France on the 15th July 1915 and became an acting Company Sergeant Major. He was Gazetted with the Military Medal on the 23rd August 1916 and was killed on the 17th April 1918 and is commemorated on Tyne Cot Memorial. Prior to this he had been known to have been wounded around the 14th April 1916. Thank you for the information Graham - much appreciated!
Noor Posted 7 November , 2017 Share Posted 7 November , 2017 (edited) Hi all, I am pushing that old post up a little. I have here one single Victory Medal that was awarded to 270909 Acting Corporal Joseph MAKEPEACE, Northumberland Hussars (Yeomanry) later on 9th Battalion (Hussars) with the new service number 235541. I only know that he was discharged to Army Class Z Reserve at some stage. is there any extra information available of him?
