Anyone know about the black signpost on the corner of the path leading up to the entrance of the German Cemetery? pointing to various locations on the planet with dates e.g. Tokyo 1995?

The line from where the 1st great scale chemical attack in history started (22 April 1915; Langemark) is the line crossing the Langemark German Cemetery indicated by the concrete blocks.

At the occasion of the centenary in 2015, a signpost was unveiled pointing to other locations where chemicals were used afterwards (until now).

I have always wondered why they do that, I have seen them at airports especially in the 1960's, perhaps there is a corresponding one in Tokyo

pointing to Langemarck ?

Lots of Japanese delegations visiting recently. Possibly to do with Flemish peace politics perhaps?

Or great fans of the Glosters, because where the gas attacks started from was the original trench of the Glosters in October 1914 when they slaughtered the Germans.
