Guest Posted 9 August , 2015 Share Posted 9 August , 2015 Hello All, Can anyone give me the war diary reference as to what was happening on 11th March 1917. All i know is that one man was killed a Private S. Kendall (serial number 9997) from the 143rd Machine Gun Company who were just outside of Biaches. Any help would be appreciated. I have the Brigade war diary as well as all the other battalions but overlooked getting this one.

johnboy Posted 9 August , 2015 Share Posted 9 August , 2015 I had another skim through for March. The writer did not seem to record casualties.
Guest Posted 10 August , 2015 Share Posted 10 August , 2015 That seems rather odd. I have his date of death recorded as 11th March 1917 and none of the Brigade or other war diaries (1/5th, 1/6th, 1/7th, 1/8th) record any of this. All I can tell is that the 1/6th RWR were on the right sector with a Machine Gun Team which my man must of been part of. the 1/8th were on the left but nothing seems to be recorded in the war diary apart from heavy shelling (which unusually the 1/6th don't record). http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/335737/KENDALL,%20S
