Recommended Posts

Hi, can anyone provide any information about the above officer.

I have only managed to track him down on an RE BWM & VM roll. As Lieutenant.

I searched the MIC's by surname only but no likely matches, couldn't find a Gazzette mention.

Any info at all welcome please.

Guy.

He was Harold Gerard Waddington, gazetted 2nd Lt. 27.1.1917

https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/29939/page/1471

Promoted temp. Lt. 27.7.1918

https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/30877/supplement/10232

and relinquished his commission 1.9.1921 as Phil has posted in #2

Edit to add:-

His M.I.C. is as Harold Gerard Waddington, L/Cpl. 2779, Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry, prior to being commissioned.

I've just had a look in WO 338 and he is probably Harold Gerard Waddington. If so, his service record is held at Kew in WO 339/92589.

His MIC will be under Harold Gerard Waddington, Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry, National Archives link here.

Ancestry here.

Phil

Edit: or as above.
