jamie 1978 Posted 13 November , 2004 Share Posted 13 November , 2004 Were all soldiers and airmen entered onto the medal index? I have searched for my Grandads entry but it doesn't appear to exist. I am fairly sure that he was in the Royal Flying Corp, but the only Alexander Tyrrell on the index was in the Dragoon Guards and the Suffolk Regiment. The only proof that I have is a post card sent home from a prisoner of war camp in 1918, this states that he was in the RFC. I wondered what the accuracy of his regiment on the card is? Would he have filled it in himself. Any ideas would be appreciated
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 14 November , 2004 Share Posted 14 November , 2004 Possibly it may not be there yet,Have you tried just entering Tyrell{& Variants of the spelling}as he may not be under Alexander?
