Can anyone help me again please?

My maternal grandfather William Fry, born Brompton Regis, Dulverton Somerset 1890,

Was in the Somerset militia, according to his application papers to join the metropolitan police in around 1910,

Would anyone know if these records still exist and what regiments they may have transferred to?

I have him at Lower woolcotts farm in both the 1891 and 1901 Census, but disappears until joining the Metropolitan police.

The Somerset Militia, originally an entirely separate regiment, became the 3rd (Militia) and 4th (Militia) Battalions of the Somerset Light Infantry. In 1908 the 4th (Militia) Battalion was disbanded and the 3rd became the 3rd (Reserve) Battalion. UK Service only.
