Pte Jacob John FRANKS KRRC

I wonder if any one may be able to assist with a quick enquiry. I have a photo of Jacob FRANKS and have tried to research him but it would appear that his is one of the burnt records. However it seems that he was in the KRRC at Shorncliffe in the 1911 census (2nd bn?) and went to France with the 3rd Bn who arrived from India. On one of the photo's it shows him in light weight dress, presumably India, with one long service stripe and I have another with two long service stripes. I cannot seem to find a definitive answer as to how long you had to serve to get one stripe and then subsequent stripes. Any knowledge? Thank you in advance.....

The answer on the service stripes may be here -

A medal index card and medal roll exists for Jacob John Franks, Pte. 9587 K.R.R.C., Sergt. L/17782 R. Fus. Entered France 20.12.1914. Entitled to 15 Star Trio. Medal Roll for British War Medal and Victory Medal gives his battalions as 4th K.R.R.C., 3rd. K.R.R.C., 1st K.R.R.C. and 2/2nd Royal Fus. Killed in action 1.9.1918.

Note: I believe 2/2nd R. Fus. would have been The London Regiment, 2/2nd (City of London) Battalion (Royal Fusiliers). The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) were not Territorial Force.

Edit: The 1915 Star medal roll as J. J. Franks give his battalion, presumably the one applicable to the entitlement to the Star, as 4th K.R.R.C.
