Remembered Today:

Anyone out there who can identify this German medal?

I'm sure it's WW1 related but can't find anything like it anywhere on the web. The reverse is plain but has 'KEGY.STAF - 1935 - I.' engraved on the rear.

Cheers,

Duncan.

Hej Duncan

The style of the ribbon would suggest that it is a Hungarian medal.

However I could not find anything resembling it on the internet either.

what makes you thinks its ww1 ? Esp with having 1935 on it. Was that a significant year in Hungarian history that might see a medal minted?

The inscription on the front says, I think, 'in memory of our dead fathers', or something like that. Thought it might have a WW1 veterans medal.

Dead fathers and 1935 point to a post war medal to commemorate something. Father tends to refer to the previous generation.

I think its a Hungarian unofficial medal (association/regimental) and a rough translation would be "In memory of those who gave their lives for their country".
