A little outside my area of expertise, but can anyone provide any information for me on the above officer - bn etc - who served with the Cheshire Regt and was gazetted for an MC on 05.11.18 please.

His medal card shows him as 1/4th Battalion. A few bits from the internet;

John Alexander Lloyd Barnes was born c1890, baptised in Claughton. In 1911, he was living at 56 Poplar Road, Birkenhead

John Lloyd Barnes (age 48 born Liverpool), Chartered Patent Agent and an Employer.

Annie Avis Barnes (age 47 born Liverpool)

Mary Astbury Barnes (age 25 born Liverpool);

Daniel Lloyd Barnes (age 23 born Liverpool), Electrical Engineer;

Annie Dorothea Barnes (age 21 born Birkenhead

John Alexander Lloyd Barnes (age 21 born Birkenhead), Insurance Clerk.
