Stewart1966 Posted 29 April , 2015 Share Posted 29 April , 2015 I am trying to trace my partner's grandfather's movements during the great war but all I know are his name rank and number: 54261 Private Albert Street, Kings Royal Rifle Corps. His medal roll doesn't show any particular KRRC battalion and his WW1 army records only detail his original enrolment in November 1915 into the Middlesex regiment when he was only 15 and his subsequent discharge a month later when his true age was discovered! There is a Kings Royal Rifle Corps association website but it doesn't seem to be accessible any more. Any help in finding out which battalion he was in would be gratefully received! Stewart1966 Posted 1 May , 2015 Author Share Posted 1 May , 2015 (edited) Can anyone confirm if the cap badges of the soldiers in the following two photos are of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps? If not can anyone identify what regiment they are? My partner's grandfather is in all of them. Some of the badges seem different but are they still the same regiment? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Stewart Edited 1 May , 2015 by Stewart1966
Muerrisch Posted 1 May , 2015 Share Posted 1 May , 2015 Marvellous Prize badge top photo which is, I believe, Rifle Brigade. Whips and Spur badge on cuff. I have noticed before that Rifles RB and KRRC, and also the London-type Rifles] are the most likely to be seen with driving prizes.
Stewart1966 Posted 1 May , 2015 Author Share Posted 1 May , 2015 Cheers Grumpy but I can stop this thread right now"" I've just found that I posted the exact two photos on this forum 7 years ago which I'd completely forgotten about and received a wealth of information from people at the time.
