I may be "havering" but I seem to remember seeing a photograph of what was purported to be HMS Indefatigable pictured in front of the Lusitania. Unfortunately, I cannot remember where or when.

Is it either of these? I can't vouch for the accuracy of the ship names therein.

Yes, but even less heavily-armoured warships like battlecruisers are much denser in weight per unit volume than a cockleshell liner...

True MikB, But with that said when Lusitania was launched in 1906 she was the worlds largest ship.
