I am trying to find anything about my Great Uncle Christopher Metcalfe.I have a M.I.C in that name with the Regt No 11138. It also notes that he entered Theatre Of War 2B on 25-4-15. On The long long trail this puts him in the 1st Battlion KOSB. Is this number a little high for the 1st Battlion and would he have been a regular. I also have a photo of him with corporal's stripes. Would that promotion be noted on the MIC?. The family were living In Newcastle-upon-Tyne then, as we are now. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The excellent service number site by Paul Nixon gives an enlistment date of sometime in 1911, so yes he would have been a regular soldier.

An MIC only records rank as should be put on the medals.
