Khaki Posted 28 April , 2015 Share Posted 28 April , 2015 I have an army spoon with War Dept and broad arrow markings, it is a white metal fiddle back type made by John Round & Son Ltd about 8.25 inches and shows signs of having been altered on the bowl section. It is service numbered to LEIC and my research shows me that three different soldiers of the Leicester's had the same service number, two serving at various times in the Boer War and one who served in the Great War (all survived). I am thinking that my spoon is Great War based on probability, but as John Round & Sons Ltd made spoons from 1870's onwards there is nothing conclusive in that. Does anyone see any clue or clues that I might have missed? I can try and post a photo but I don't think that it would assist much as it is a basic style fiddleback. appreciate any assistance. khaki
