Mark Hone Posted 26 April , 2015 Share Posted 26 April , 2015 I have recently come across this excellent 2014 special Great War centenary issue of the Wellcome Institute's magazine on the History of Medicine. I found the articles on plastic surgery and ADS Essex Farm's place in the medical evacuation chain particularly interesting. Sad to say, this was the final edition of the magazine: http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/stellent/groups/corporatesite/@msh_publishing_group/documents/web_document/wtp058051.pdf
seaforths Posted 26 April , 2015 Share Posted 26 April , 2015 Mark, thanks for sharing the link. I was especially interested in Essex farm as it is covered well in Rorie's book 'A Medico's Luck in the War' when it was in use by 51st HD FA and a forum member was kind enough to send me photographs. The other articles also made fascinating reading too.
