researching my Great grandfather ww1

I have some information but I am looking for some more information

My Great grandfather name is Ernest Bertram Trowell Sub conductor Royal Army ordnance Corps who died on 23rd April 1915 cemetery Poperinge . He was down by the canal bank Ypres to take cover . five of major hills men had been killed on the bridge instantaneously by big shell my great grandfather was one of the five men .

any information would be gratefully received .

I learned something from this rank of Sub Conductor,and Conductor,having only come across this in the Indian Army rankings and presuming that it was just their rank,but it isn't as I now know. If you were wondering what the duties were you can read this :
