midshipmanrayley Posted 17 April , 2015 Share Posted 17 April , 2015 George Edgar Hitter, 1878-1916, of Lowestoft, was Skipper of H.M. Drifter "Pelagia". Served in Royal Naval Reserve as WSA1950 and was killed 28th November 1916 by a mine explosion off the Isle of Wight. He is listed on the Navy List as Temporary Skipper with seniority 1st October 1915. Can any member give a more exact position of the explosion as another source says off Portsmouth. Any guidance gratefully received.
