Keighley War Memorial North Yorkshire.

Keighley war memorial is a composite piece. A bronze victory figure stands atop a stone obelisk. At the sides are bronze figures of a sailor and soldier and a bronze plaque. The memorial is on a raised stone platform in Town Hall Square. It is grade II listed and is in Keighley town centre conservation area.

In 1999, the Keighley branch of the Royal British Legion received permission from Bradford Metropolitan District Council to place a millennium stone plaque on the memorial.

The Unveiling Ceremony of the Keighley War Memorial took place on Dec. 7th 1924.

This is a striking memorial that is one of my personal favourites. I took these images very recently

It was a nice clear day......21C.... for a change!..... you might be able to tell from the images that the sun was about to set, hence the long shadows.

Excellent images, thanks very much for posting these. However, it's in West Yorkshire.

The RFC/RAF panel was added just a few years ago after research showed that some fifty odd men from the area who died in these services during WW1 weren't actually represented on the war memorial itself.
