Terry_Reeves Posted 4 April , 2015 Posted 4 April , 2015 Gilles Yes, the Livens projector was used later. It came into operation in 1917 , having been experimented with the previous year. The gas used at Loos was dispensed from cylinders. TR

geraint Posted 18 May , 2015 Posted 18 May , 2015 History of 4th RWF Pioneer battalion at Loos says "At 5.50am on September 25th the gas cylinders were opened and dense clouds of smoke rolled out of the RWF trenches where RWF detachments were in control of the smoke-candles." (Pouf! Wikipedia ehhh? What do zey know ehhh?)
Terry Carter Posted 18 May , 2015 Posted 18 May , 2015 Some of the War Diaries of units involved at Loos refer to gas as the "accessory." Terry
