in september the british troup use a gaz but

** use Livens or cylinder with gaz

i am reading the two weapons are used in Loos but

for me use a cylinder and open gaz / pipe all are empty 3 minute...

livens are used later ????

Yes, the Livens projector was used later. It came into operation in 1917 , having been experimented with the previous year. The gas used at Loos was dispensed from cylinders.

History of 4th RWF Pioneer battalion at Loos says "At 5.50am on September 25th the gas cylinders were opened and dense clouds of smoke rolled out of the RWF trenches where RWF detachments were in control of the smoke-candles."
