Gavain Colbourne Campbell Wilson, 1896-1916, private 43364 1st battalion, Norfolk Regiment.

Died 4th September 1916 in France. His medal index card has details of earlier Territorial Service including number 785.

Can any member please help me discover details of his

His 785 service number was from 1/6th Norfolks (Cyclists) according to the TF Medal Rolls.

Kind regards

From a previous thread:

"In July 1916, much of the 1/6th and a large proportion of the 2/6th were drafted out to overseas units. The majority of the 1/6th Battalion were posted to 8th Norfolks, whilst much of the 2/6th Battalion went to 1st Norfolks."

This explains why there's no date of entry on the MIC i.e. he went overseas post-January 1916.
