Any India hands suggest histories/ memoirs of the 28th? Any insights into their record in Ceylon pre Mesopotamia?

There was, apparently, a short history of the regiment produced shortly after they became the 4th/15th Punjab Regiment, but it (according to Perkins) has little information on the GW service.

According to Donovan jackson, the 28th Punjabis were detained in Ceylon by severe rioting, and were detained until 1915, after which they went to mespot. They then spent a year held up in front of Sunnyiat; they then took part in Maude's advance, ending up in Palestine, where, on 19th September 1918 they took eight lines of trenches in 62 minutes, under heavy fire, that being effectively the end of their war. In 1920 they were in Waziristan, where Sepoy Ishar Singh won a VC.

Chris Kempston states that from January 1916 to February 1920 they were in the 19th (Dehra Dun) Brigade in the 7th (Meerut) Division.
