STEVENG Posted 28 March , 2015 Share Posted 28 March , 2015 I am currently researching this soldier who came from my home town of Coatbridge and was awarded the MM. He was Gazzeted on the 14/5/1919 I would like to find out where the Gordons were in the line and what if possible action he may have been involved in. regards
4thGordons Posted 29 March , 2015 Share Posted 29 March , 2015 Where the 1st Gordons were in the line when? As he was Gazetted in May of 1919 I assume the action must have been very late 1918, so on that basis the following map will probably help: Source: Falls. C. 1958, Vol 4 "Life of a Regiment" Aberdeen University Press: Aberdeen. p246
roughdiamond Posted 29 March , 2015 Share Posted 29 March , 2015 If you go to Airdrie research library, they have period Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser and another now defunct local newspaper on microfilm, you may find the reason for his MM on there.
