Trying to piece together service of Sergeant 3/3351, John McKenzie, 5th Cameron Highlanders/Sergeant 3/8434, 8th Seaforth Highlanders.

Possibly wounded and transferred?

MIC has no date of entry into theatre, and looks like service record has not survived. Is it possible this man was a Special Reservist, and a service record may be available on FMP. If so could someone check if there is a record on FMP. If there is, I will try reactivate my FMP account (password problem, that will require a phone call)

Good man Craig, thank you very much. I will phone FMP on Monday, see if I can re-jig my subscription. Had a problem with my password, and have not been able to get back on the site. I originally used a different pc and it is now 'kaput' lost my password etc etc.

No facility for ' forgotten password' ?

Yes, but I have also forgotten other info I needed. I was using another computer when originally subscribed. I can't remember the but the last time I tried, I could not access. I need to input either mother's maiden name, or first school or similar, and cannot remember the correct combination. A phonecall and credit card details should fix?

That's very sophisticated.

I had to answer a security question the other day during a phone call. The bloke on the other end said 'Can you give me your favourite colour because I have blue on your registration'.

Must have been having a Jim Bowen moment!
