keithjk Posted 16 March , 2015 Share Posted 16 March , 2015 I am requesting some assistance in deciphering various bits of the enclosed portion of a B103. 1 The man's injury was obviously to his right hand, but what exactly does 'S.W.' stand for ? 2 Is 'Adm' short for 'admitted ? 3 Where, and what, was '6 B. R. X. Hpl' ? I have already ascertained that 33 Field Ambulance was attached to 11th. Northern Division, that 6 CCS was at Lozinghem, and that 25 Infantry Base Depot was at Etaples. Any help would be much appreciated Keith

keithjk Posted 16 March , 2015 Author Share Posted 16 March , 2015 Johnboy, thanks for your prompt responses. They certainly tie in with my hunches, but I am hoping for definitive answers if possible. Keith
headgardener Posted 16 March , 2015 Share Posted 16 March , 2015 Johnboy's responses are all correct; 'Shrapnel wound', 'admitted', & 'British Red Cross Hospital'. Btw, just so you know, the dates that these events occurred are on the R side of these entries (you've cropped them out of the image). The date on the L side is simply a record of the date on which the entry was made on the form.
