Came across a ref today to the autobiography of John Morris of the 3rd Gurkhas that is supposed to cover his time in Palestine. Has anybody seen this before ? Is it worth hunting down a copy ?

Dave, if this is a book with a title "Licence to Kill" (or similar), I'd say no. I am at this moment in the Hussars museum, so I popped upstairs to ask my chum, the Curator of the Gurkha Museum. he dug a copy off the shelves, and the whole time of the author's war service in Palestine is covered in pages 57 - 61.

Brief, I think, would be a good word.

Many thanks for the quick response.

Steven - based on that I'll probably give it a miss.

Maureen - cant open the link here in China for some reason but will keep trying. Thanks

Greetings

To me the book was a good read - honest and descriptive.

It won't satisfy your immediate requirement but it's worth looking out for as a satisfying piece of military autobiography.
