303 type id please

I have been asked to id this old 303. The type and what the safety? catch on the top. What chance do I have so I will ask those who know here. Please help if you can.

Agree - although difficult to be certain without seeing more

It could be an SMLE with a MLE/CLLE bolt in it - but assuming no strangeness like that - most obvious choice would be a CLLE.

There should be some markings on the wrist which would indicate (although it looks fairly heavily corroded) There may also be a conversion date on the opposite side of the wrist if it was converted from a MLE

Thanks lads, I had an idea it was a Lee Metford bold in an SMLE myself.
