Royal Defence Corps -abbreviation conundrum

Hello,

I am researching a chap named Arthur Pick, who according to the absent voters list for his locality in Leicestershire, joined the RDC as Lance Corporel 78360. However, after this notation, is written '20r prot 10rdg' . Does anyone know what this means ?

Many thanks

Might this annotation be "20[?] prot co RDC"?

The RDC had several "Protection Companies" - as the name suggests, they mostly guarded things, ranging from POW camps to ammunition depots. Looking at burial locations in the CWGC records, it looks like the 20x Protection Companies were mostly in Scotland, not that that helps much...

Andrew.
