Thunderbox Posted 11 February , 2015 Share Posted 11 February , 2015 The Balle D appears unfired (no rifling marks or impact distortion), so I'm guessing that it is a seperate souvenir pick-up, and wasn't actually extracted from the OP's grandfather at the same time as the other bullet. There is book called "A Moment in Time" by Melton Resident Derek A Simmonds, which you may have seen in which he is listed. He is also comes up in a search of the Royal Leicestershire Regiment web site but no information other than that I know already. Thanks anyway.
