stephen p nunn Posted 27 January , 2015 Share Posted 27 January , 2015 Dear all. At the weekend a friend of mine picked up a trio to a Captain Sumner. He thinks the Star is a modern copy but the Pair look fine. Looking at the MICs this is likely to be Temporary Captain O. Sumner of the Royal Engineers. It looks like he was Mentioned in Dispatches and was in the London Gazette on 11/12/1917 (page 13079). Does anyone know anything more about him please? Thank you. Terry_Reeves Posted 27 January , 2015 Share Posted 27 January , 2015 Malden There is a record for a Major O Sumner at TNA in WO 374/66391. Sumner also held the rank of Major according to his MIC and his first name is Orlando. TR
