Beau Geste Posted 26 January , 2015 Share Posted 26 January , 2015 I thought some of you might find these photos interesting. The first one, I think, is pretty well self explanatory. The others include a photo I hadn't seen before of the Archduke and his wife minutes before they were assassinated; Russian soldiers preparing for a gas attack against the Germans in WW1 and a pyramid of German helmets in New York ! trench whistle Posted 22 July , 2020 Share Posted 22 July , 2020 The sub on Hastings beach is 1919, it broke free from its tow line when being towed up the channel with other submarines. Hastings Museum has some small pieces from it when it was scrapped, I remember the mouth piece of a speaking tube. Incidentaly it is reputed that pieces of the hull are still buried in the beach as unrecoverable during scrapping. How true that is I don't know.
