reply i googled the name and it came up in their search.

http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205076222

you can use their search.

also know it sounds weird if you search roll of honour on ebay you get lot of good quality fallen photos from the sphere, graphic, navy and army illustrated etc for coldstream photos.

also archive.org and http://www.illustratedfirstworldwar.com/ search

Forgive me for asking, but in what context will you be using the photo?

A website or book, or some other publication.

Are there restrictions on its use?

Seems to me that as taxpayers we own publicly funded organisations like IWM anyway, and shouldn't be tugging our forelocks to them for graciously granting permission to use what belongs to us already.

i will be using the photo in a book, they had to seek permission of the owner which was granted. It was a personal photo rather than a IWM photo.

Although I was granted £35 for a photo of FC Macmullen from the British Library, Indian Collection
