Hi,

I pick up this helve carrier which look to me to be a W.W.1 original. It came attached to a P08 frog and bayonet.

Opinions are more than welcome.

Happy New Year to all, Michel

It's impossible to make a definitive judgement from photographs, but it looks right to me. It is assembled correctly, unlike most of the copies I've seen, which have definite errors in fabrication.

Hi Michel

looks fine to me the rivets all look to have the correct age for the items as does the stitching

Personally I think this is a good one it has wear in the right places and as John said its stitched correctly. You have done well.

This comes from a batch (of good ones) that turned up a few years ago.

I have seen them sold as South Staffs, but they actually came from Canada and are marked to the South Saskatchewan Regiment.

Most have 1920s re-issue markings on them too.

Cheers,

GT.
