midshipmanrayley Posted 31 December , 2014 Share Posted 31 December , 2014 Philip Barnes Freeman 1886-1959 was born, married and died in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. A dentist by profession as was his son. His attestation papers are online and reveal him joining the Middlesex Regiment as 45063 and 6871 in 1916. Looked for a medal index card but only found one to a P.B. Freeman 2nd Lt. Worcestershire Regiment. Cannot seem to connect his not being in the R.A.M.C. and other service. Can any member help? ralphjd Posted 31 December , 2014 Share Posted 31 December , 2014 Looking at his service papers, he never served abroad , apparantly no medals issued therefore no card. Discharged as unfit, broke his left ankle, left it weak, unable to march / train etc. Ralph.
