My great grandfather served in the second Boer war as Trumpeter Charles Ramsey Robertson 2DN/4539 2nd Dragoons and served as private/Trumpeter 20778,390640 in WW1 he was aware the QSA Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal. KSA 1901,1902. Russia Medal of Zeal. 1914 Star, War Medal, Victory Medal. what I would like to know is when and how he would of got his Russia Medal of Zeal during his wars? Can anyone help me

The Russian Czar Nicholas II was the Colonel in Chief of the Royal Scots Greys (2nd Dragoons) and he awarded the Russian Medal of Zeal to members of the Band when they visited Russia in August, 1909.
