Guest Deniset Posted 27 December , 2014 Share Posted 27 December , 2014 My grandfather was taken prisoner on 14th April 1918 at Neuve Englise and he was at first held at Lille Fort, then Fort englos, Termonde, Dulman and finally Diedenhofen Lager. He was released by an American unit at end of November and arrived back in England on 4th December 1918. He was a signaller in the 1/4th then 1/5th York and Lancaster Regiment. Does anyone have any information about these camps and what the conditions would have been like. He came back in very poor health (he lost 2 toes) and had been working in some iron mines.
