Remembering another bitter day for the BEF, 100 years ago today

Remembering the costly and fruitless attacks made this day 100 years ago:
- 1st Somerset Light Infantry and 1st Rifle Brigade at the 'German Birdcage', near Le Gheer;
- 2nd Leicesters, 2/3rd Ghurka Rifles and other elements of the Gharwal Brigade at the Jat Salient near the Rue du Bois;
- 1st Highland Light Infantry, 1/4th Ghurka Rifles and other elements of the Sirhind and Ferozepore Brigades at Givenchy.

Pte Goggin 7056 from 1st Somerset L. I. was a casualty that day. He kept a personal record of the places he was in(enclosed) ,ending in armentíers on the 7th Oct.
