Chris_Baker Posted 19 December , 2014 Share Posted 19 December , 2014 Remembering the costly and fruitless attacks made this day 100 years ago:- 1st Somerset Light Infantry and 1st Rifle Brigade at the 'German Birdcage', near Le Gheer;- 2nd Leicesters, 2/3rd Ghurka Rifles and other elements of the Gharwal Brigade at the Jat Salient near the Rue du Bois;- 1st Highland Light Infantry, 1/4th Ghurka Rifles and other elements of the Sirhind and Ferozepore Brigades at Givenchy.
