Keith Iles Posted 18 December , 2014 Share Posted 18 December , 2014 Remembering this day my Great Uncle Charles Sydney Iles Lance Serjeant 8727 of the 1st Bn Gloustershire Regiment who disembarked in France and entered his first theater of War on 19/12/14 a pre war regular, I'm not sure why he took so long to join his Regiment in France maybe he was held back at the base depot for some reason or other, he went on to serve in Salonika from where he was eventually invalided home and discharged due to illness (possibly due to malaria) he survived the war and died in 1948, always remembered
