Can anyone please tell me which Battalions of the Bedfordshire Regt served in the Army of Occupation?

Thanks,

Ian :D

Ian, I don't think any of them did. There is no mention of any in the Official History volume covering the occupation. None of the Divisions which had a battalion of the Beds moved into Germany.

Sorry to contradict, but.........

52nd(S) Battalion. March-August 1919. 2nd Eastern Infantry Brigade (the Bedford Brigade). Eastern Division, British Army of the Rhine. Disbanded March 1920.

53rd(S) Battalion. as above.

51st (S) Battalion as above.

Best wishes.

Chris/John,

Thanks.

I picked up a picture of a Lewis Gun team of the Bedfordshire Regt today & written on helmets in the foreground is 'No. 7 Post Brol'. It is also repeated on the flipside.

These units were all part of the 34th Division in the Army of Occupation - as discussed on a previous thread when John posted a photo of a chap with the 34 Div flash.
