Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 4 May , 2003 Share Posted 4 May , 2003 Can anyone please tell me which Battalions of the Bedfordshire Regt served in the Army of Occupation? Thanks, Ian
Chris_Baker Posted 4 May , 2003 Share Posted 4 May , 2003 Ian, I don't think any of them did. There is no mention of any in the Official History volume covering the occupation. None of the Divisions which had a battalion of the Beds moved into Germany.

Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 4 May , 2003 Share Posted 4 May , 2003 Chris/John, Thanks. I picked up a picture of a Lewis Gun team of the Bedfordshire Regt today & written on helmets in the foreground is 'No. 7 Post Brol'. It is also repeated on the flipside. Paul Reed Posted 4 May , 2003 Share Posted 4 May , 2003 These units were all part of the 34th Division in the Army of Occupation - as discussed on a previous thread when John posted a photo of a chap with the 34 Div flash.
Chris_Baker Posted 4 May , 2003 Share Posted 4 May , 2003 I had quiet forgotten that the battalions were switched out for the 52nd/53rd's.
