Patrick Watt Posted 9 December , 2014 Share Posted 9 December , 2014 Afternoon All I was wondering if anyone had heard of the Central Political Recruiting Agency which was based at 95 Princes Street in Edinburgh in November 1914? I came across the name on an official stamp on an attestation form for 14495 Private James Anderson, Cameron Highlanders. Also on the form in the column for 'Did you receive a notice...' it is just stamped POLITICAL. Any thoughts? Cheers Patrick
rolt968 Posted 9 December , 2014 Share Posted 9 December , 2014 We've discussed "Political" on attestation forms before: http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=115312&hl=+political%20+attestation#entry1102058 http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=193385&hl=%2Bpolitical+%2Brecruit#entry1892172 There may be other threads. Patrick Watt Posted 9 December , 2014 Author Share Posted 9 December , 2014 Thanks for those links - very interesting. I think it must be to do with recruitment by a particular political organisation. I wonder how many men they got that way? Patrick
