Johno7439 Posted 2 December , 2014 Share Posted 2 December , 2014 I am currently researching a soldier - 34082 Private J Johnstone, 1/8th Scottish Rifles (Cameronians). He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery and is listed as being killed on January 26th 1918. Does anybody have the war diary for the battalion covering that day? I already have Col. Findlays' excellent book -'With the 8th Scottish Rifles' but it makes no mention of any casualties, or indeed anything happening on the 26th. Thanks in anticipation
Guest Posted 2 December , 2014 Share Posted 2 December , 2014 Hi Ewan. According to Soldiers died in the Great War he 'died of wounds' so could have been wounded any time before that? Mike
Johno7439 Posted 2 December , 2014 Author Share Posted 2 December , 2014 Thanks Mike, the battalion had forced the Auja River the previous month so perhaps he was wounded in that action.
