Herbert Wroughton,1891-1917,resident of Great Yarmouth, was killed in action 8th December 1917 in Palestine.

Served as 2nd lieutenant 12th battalion, Norfolk Regiment, 74th Yeomanry Division.

Previously served as private 1535 Suffolk Yeomanry and private 320056 Suffolk Regiment.

(I know very little about his early service but suspect he was a pre-war territorial in Suffolk Yeomanry).

Can any member guide me regarding his service?

Herbert Wroughton, Suffolk Regiment Roll of Entitled to Victory and War medal.

Corporal 1535 1st Suffolk Yeomanry

Corporal 320056 15th Suffolk Regiment.

Unable to find any attestation documents online with the usual suspects.

There should be another MIC showing entitlement to the BWM and VM, unless these were never claimed. The MIC you show appears to indicate the his 1914/15 Star was issued only.

Thanks for your input Robert.

Found Victory and War Medal details on Regimental records only. Will take your advice and search for another possible medal index card.
