Entwistle Posted 1 November , 2004 Share Posted 1 November , 2004 HI, William Entwistle of the Kings Own Yorshire Light Infantry obviously got the Victory and British medal......but can I tell anything else from the card? Also, what does M2/103B32 p 4184 mean? Is that ref all I need to find the actual medal roll when I eventually visit Kew? Thanks for your time
GavinH Posted 2 November , 2004 Share Posted 2 November , 2004 William Entwistle had previously served with the Northumberland Fusiliers. The number next to the medals is the medal roll reference. It actually reads O/2/103B32 Page 4184. The rolls are held at the National Archives in WO329. There is a folder on a desk in the Microfilm Reading Room which shows how the above number can be translated into a piece number. It will be something like WO329/****.
