In remembrance of my great grand-uncle Leading Seaman Charles Burt Rolfe, Royal Navy, who lost his life 100 years ago today aboard the 'D2' Submarine in the waters off Borkum Island, Germany, after an apparent encounter with a German torpedo boat.

Gone but not forgotten.

Would your Great Grand Uncle Leading Seaman Charles Burt Rolfe be any relation to a Leading Stoker Mark Rolfe Royal Navy sunk on HMS LAFORAY English Channel on 23 March 1917. Lived in hythe kent.
