I am trying to trace anything about 2nd Lt D Pitt who died on 31st July 1917 when with the 10th Battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) although in CWGC listed as 8th. He is buried in Brandhoek New Military Cemetery.

At the moment I can't find his medal card, nor even his Christian name! I'm sure it is me being stupid and someone will answer the questions with ease!

This is possibly the Gazette entry for his commission to 2nd Lieutenant from a cadet, dated 5/8/1916 - https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/29705/supplement/7987/data.pdf

Regimental roll of honour has him as 8th Bn - https://archive.org/stream/regimentalrollof1920grea#page/138/mode/2up

The Douglas Pitt who appears on the Glasgow High School roll of honour is listed as a private in the 9th (Glasgow Highlanders) Highland Light Infantry, (although I can't find that casualty).

Thanks for the update. He enlisted in 9th and then was sent for a commission, hence he is not a casualty of 9th but of the Cameronians, being killed with the 10th.

Really appreciate the help.

Wilhelm
