Hello - I am trying to get any information on my Great Uncle James Bannon who died in the great war on the 7th June 1917. His name is listed on the Menin Gate but would there have been diaries about the battle that he died in ??

I have a book The 2nd R I R in the Great War your gt uncles name is listed on page 153 as being killed, previous page 95 has a description as to what the 2nd RIR were up to on the 7th June. I will attempt  to scan the page and post it on here Ralph.

Thanks to you all for posting. My great Uncle Tommy DuRr died in September 1918, in the same area of Wulvergem , he's buried in the Lindenhoek cemetery, James doesn't have a grave.
