Back again after a long while. I am working on a project of the brothers now and would appreciate being contacted by anyone who can add to my knowledge of the boys lives.

It would be useful to give an Idea of what you already know, so that we only add what is new.

A very quick search tells me that Hugh was a 2nd Lieut in the 7th Northumberland Fusiliers who went to France on 13/03/16 and was Killed in Action on 26/06/16
I have a (Temp) Capt JM who was KIA 1/07/16, also in the Northumberland Fusiliers and was mentioned in Dispatches 4/01/17 https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/29890/supplement/221

Captain John Macfarlan Charlton was born in July 1891, the son of J. Charlton of 6 William Street, Knightsbridge SW. He was educated at Uppingham School from September 1906 to July 1910.
