mikebriggs Posted 15 November , 2014 Share Posted 15 November , 2014 Notts & Derby Territorial soldiers because some are wearing the Imperial Service Badge (above right pocket) Is there any photographers name on the back ? At a guess I would say the 5th or 6th Battalions because the brass Shoulder badges look the 5 tier Territorial Force to me (i.e. T-5-Notts-And-Derby) Any chance of a zoom in on the shoulder of the corporal sitting in the middle - re scan at a higher resolution perhaps? The fact that not all men have shoulder badges could mean its the 2/5th and 2/6th during summer 1915 in England. Anyway a few thoughts to be going along with. cheersMike
agedpink1 Posted 15 November , 2014 Author Share Posted 15 November , 2014 Hi Mike thanks for that. The photographer was Randolph C Neild from Ripley so that would point to 5th Battalion.
mikebriggs Posted 15 November , 2014 Share Posted 15 November , 2014 Possibly I've never seen any PCs from him before - photographers did tend to travel to the annual - it also could be Sparken Hill in 1913 That would be my two guesses cheersMike nice picture by the way
CGM Posted 15 November , 2014 Share Posted 15 November , 2014 Is that a fruit cake on the ground in front of them?
Standard Bearer Posted 15 November , 2014 Share Posted 15 November , 2014 Is that a fruit cake on the ground in front of them? Looks like it. They are certainly enjoying themselves. Lovely photo.
