Yarnold66 Posted 11 November , 2014 Share Posted 11 November , 2014 I am researching a Gunner who served in the 38th (Welsh) Division and landed in France on 23/12/1915.He was discharged on 3/1/1917 due to wounds - but at the time of discharge he was with 5 'C' Reserve Brigade (49th, 50th & 51st Batteries).I was thinking he could possibly have been wounded in France, posted to assist in training back home and then later judged physically unfit to continue. Or he could have been posted to 5 'C' for an unknown reason and then injured in an incident while training (two other men from 5 'C' were discharged on the same day with wounds).Any thoughts would be appreciated. anthony P Posted 11 November , 2014 Share Posted 11 November , 2014 Hi What was his name/Number, how old was he, where did he live?
battiscombe Posted 11 November , 2014 Share Posted 11 November , 2014 if wounded and home in UK he would be listed as with a Reserve Brigade for administrative purposes, and discharged from there if it was necessary. I would assume wounded in France
