wwrsimon Posted 7 November , 2014 Share Posted 7 November , 2014 Hello everyone Can anyone give an ID for the aircraft in which 2nd Lt Charles Gordon PROCTER was killed on February 20th 1916. He fell from his aircraft after it nosed dived and rolled over during a training flight at Catterick. Many thanks. Regards Simon
wwrsimon Posted 22 December , 2014 Author Share Posted 22 December , 2014 Just a quick 'bump' for this one, if anyone can help. Regards Simon
nieuport11 Posted 22 December , 2014 Share Posted 22 December , 2014 The RAF Casualty cards don't give a serial Note however that they, and the CWGC, list him as PROCTER
wwrsimon Posted 23 December , 2014 Author Share Posted 23 December , 2014 Many thanks for the reply nieuport11. I'd already downlaoded the RAF Casualty Card, but wondered if anyone knew of a serial to tie in. As well as the Casualty Card, the National Probate Calendar lists him as Procter, but the report of his death in the local Morpeth Herald newspaper gives his name as Proctor. Easy mistake for the newspaper to make, I think. Regards Simon
nieuport11 Posted 25 December , 2014 Share Posted 25 December , 2014 But the Gazette entry on deceased estates, his military records and the posting ledger list him as Proctor, so the newspaper may be right
